'Living a Nightmare': Loved Ones of Missing Teenagers Await Information After Ski Resort Inferno

Teenage Swiss national a young man from Switzerland is one of those unaccounted for.

The families of teens missing after a devastating inferno at a venue in a Swiss winter destination are facing an excruciating wait for official news and pleading for clues about their family members online.

The inferno devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the mountains of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Confirmed images show the ceiling catching alight as beverages with fireworks are held aloft.

Officials have warned that it could take days if not weeks to formally name the victims of the tragedy, which killed numerous partygoers and wounded another over a hundred. A spokesperson stated on the latest update that the majority of the injured have been identified, with the process ongoing to locate the final individuals.

In the meantime, loved ones have been taking to social media to request information about their loved ones who were at the bar that fateful night.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The whereabouts of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are currently unknown, according to an appeal from his parent.

The who lives of Lutry near Lausanne, explained to a publication that she had gone back to Lausanne to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his father did the equivalent search in Bern, but was unsuccessful.

"It feels like a terrible dream, an ordeal. The options are finding my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in critical condition. Words cannot describe it," she stated.

She explained that some of his peers had been found with burns covering nearly half their bodies. "It's indescribable; they experienced an absolute nightmare."

The Italian foreign ministry has said that a number of of its nationals are still unaccounted for.

Teenage sportsman Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last heard from around midnight on December 31st, his father said.

Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage sportsman, originally from Genoa but now living in Dubai.

The Italian Golf Federation has released a tribute that he is no longer with us, without directly referencing the tragedy, honoring a "talented young man who represented dedication and true sportsmanship."

His father, is quoted as saying that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around the new year. An representative has clarified that a formal confirmation of his death is not yet.

Further Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also among the missing. His parent explained that he had been on holiday but had ventured out with a group and found himself at the bar.

"A companion said they ran away after the fire broke out and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a certain point he lost sight of him," she recounted, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his educators stated, "I remember his good nature and smile, coupled with great maturity. He would frequently offer to get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Greek and Swiss nationality but lives permanently in Switzerland, was also at the bar on New Year's Eve, according to reports.

Her sibling has posted an appeal online, saying the relatives has had "no updates" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Consular authorities from her other nation say they are continuing to monitor the case.
