The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and had been in communication with the NFL.
The organization did not mention the player specifically in their announcement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete by name, shared a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She did say the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.
No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have taken place.
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an NFL suspension for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals hurt. Rice was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice finished the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
