FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months since relocating for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. After final construction, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
