Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.
A spokesman for the publisher said: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.
The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
Some of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.
He has published in excess of 40 works altogether, encompassing a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.
His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.
This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
